China - Trip Baggage Allowance
General
rules about baggage allowance when traveling within China and leaving
China for home is something to be aware of.
For
passengers heading for USA and Canada from China
Checked Baggage Allowances
1. Piece System applies to passengers heading for USA and Canada. According
to the ticket class, the standard of baggage allowance are:
A.
First Class and Business Class
Two pieces of baggage of which the sum of the greatest outside linear
dimensions of each does not exceed 62 inches (158cms), and the weight
of each does not exceed 70lbs (32kgs).
B.
Economy Class and Tourist Discounted Class
Two pieces of baggage (measured together) of which the sum of the greatest
outside linear dimensions does not exceed 107 inches (269cms), provided
the sum of the outside linear dimensions of each bag does not exceed
62 inches (158cms), and that the weight of each does not exceed 70lbs
(32kgs). Infant who paid 10 percent of the adult fare could bear one
baggage provided the sum of the greatest outside linear dimensions does
not exceed 45 inches (115cms)
2. Weight System Regulation define baggage allowance of each passenger:
40 kg (88 lbs) for first-class passenger
30 kg (66 lbs) for business-class passenger
20 kg (44 lbs) for economy-class passenger
No free baggage allowance is granted to infants paying 10 percent of
the adult fare
Carry-on Baggage Allowances
Passengers holing adult-fare or half-fare tickets are entitled to bear
only one piece of unchecked baggage. The baggage should be suitable
for placing under the passenger's seat or in the overhead compartment,
and the sum of the greatest outside linear dimensions does not exceed
45 inches (115cms).
Besides, each passenger may carry in his own custody the following articles
free of charge:
1. A lady's handbag
2. An overcoat, wrap or traveling blanket
3. A raincoat, an umbrella or walking stick
4. A small camera and / or a pair of small binoculars
5. Infant food for consumption in flight
6. A reasonable amount of reading matter for the flight
7. An infant cradle
8. A fully collapsible wheelchair, a pair of crutches/braces or artificial
limbs
Following
are some articles which can't be shipped as baggage:
1. Dangerous articles, such as inflammable, explosive, corrosive, poisonous,
radioactive, polymerizable and magnetized material
2. Arms, sharp or lethal weapons
3. Articles forbidden or limited to import or export according to Chinese
laws
Reminder: Never pack currency, jewelry, securities and other valuables
in your checked baggage. You will be responsible for any loss.
For
Chinese domestic flight passengers
Checked Baggage Allowances
Any passenger holding a first class adult ticket or a half-price ticket
is entitled to bear the luggage of 30 kg free of charge (checked and
carry-on baggage).
Any
passenger holding a economy class adult ticket or a half-price ticket
is entitled to bear the luggage of 20 kg free of charge (checked and
carry-on baggage); No free luggage allowance for infant ticket holders.
Carry-on Baggage Allowances
Each first-class passenger is entitled to have two pieces of carry-on
luggage.
Each business-class passenger is entitled to have one piece of carry-on
luggage.
Each economy-class passenger is entitled
to have one pieces of carry-on luggage.
The size of each carry-on luggage should be smaller than 20 X 40 X 55
centimeter and total weight should be less than 5 kg. Otherwise, the
luggage should be checked together with your other luggage. For luggage
in excess of the free baggage allowance in piece, or the sum of the
length, width and height of each piece exceeding the prescribed limits,
an excess luggage charge should be paid.
It
is recommended for efficient travel that each passenger travel with
only one suitcase and one carry-on bag. Excessive number, size, or weight
of luggage may result in your inconvenience and/or surcharge.
